Privacy policy
What this site collects, why, where it goes, and how to have it removed. We collect as little as the site needs to work, and we do not sell or rent anything we collect.

This site, sapphirecore.org, is run by Sapphire Core Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, 5900 Balcones Dr, Ste 100, Austin, TX 78731-4298. Questions about this policy go to contactsapphirecore.org.
What we collect, and why
When you leave your email
Your email address, the page you left it on, and the time. We use it to reach out to you personally about getting involved. Nothing else.
When you email us
Your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply to you, and it stays in our email account.
When you take the exercise
Your answers stay in your browser. We may record that the exercise was started and finished, and the score, as an anonymous count. We do not store your answers against your name or email.
Every form
Each form has a hidden field that people cannot see but automated spam bots fill in. Submissions that fill it in are discarded.
Where it is stored
Form submissions are sent to a Google Apps Script we control and stored in a Google Sheet in the organization's Google account. Google processes this data on our behalf.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count page visits and when someone leaves their email to get involved. This tells us which pages are useful and whether our Google Ad Grant search ads reach the right people. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to tell one visit from the next. The same Google tag also reports to Google Ads, so we can see whether someone who clicked one of our ads went on to sign up. None of this gives us your name or email.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on, and the site will work the same.
Our web host may also keep standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We do not run advertising on this site, and we do not share your email with advertisers.
How long we keep it
Email addresses are kept until you ask us to delete them. Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in our account, no longer than 14 months.
Your choices
- Ask us to stop contacting you at any time by replying to any email from us.
- See, correct, or delete what we hold about you by emailing contactsapphirecore.org. We will do it and confirm.
Children
This site is written for teachers and other adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date below. If a change affects how we use email addresses we already hold, we will tell the people affected first.
