Sapphire Core Institute is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We help under-resourced communities learn with AI, and we research how people learn with AI so the tools we build are actually useful.
Why this matters
Not everyone gets the same chance to learn.
Access to good teaching, useful materials, and people who believe in you isn’t shared evenly, and the gaps tend to grow over time. Two kids with the same curiosity can end up in very different places, mostly because of where they happened to grow up.
At the same time, decades of learning science have taught us a great deal about how understanding actually forms. Too much of that knowledge stays locked away in journals or costly products, far from the people who would gain the most from it.
AI can help here. It can give a student one-on-one support with their schoolwork whenever they need it, and with tools that run on local devices, it can do that even where internet is limited. Our job is to study how people learn with AI, and to bring the tools that work to the communities that need them most.
What we do

Access
We’re working to bring AI learning tools to under-resourced schools and libraries. We focus on tools that run on local devices, so communities with limited internet can use them and student data stays in the building. The goal is to support teachers and put one-on-one help within reach of every student.
How it works
Learning tools that work anywhere.
Runs on local devices
The tools install on a device or small server right in the school or library, and work with no internet connection. Limited connectivity is no barrier, and student information stays on-site.
One-on-one help for students
Students can ask questions and get patient, step-by-step help with their schoolwork, the kind of one-on-one support that isn’t always within reach.
A hand for teachers
Teachers get a tool that fields routine questions and frees up more of their time for the students who need them most.
